Philosophy 232 Final Exam

Due Date: Tuesday, May 18; Noon in Marcus White 315.

Extension: You may take an automatic 24 hour extension for any reason without penalty. Beyond that, your final exam will be penalized one full letter grade every day it is late. (For example, if I do not receive your final exam until 12:01pm on Wednesday, May 19, then the best grade you can receive on the final is a B.)

Assignment: Write 1000-1500 words on Free Will.

Minimum Requirements:

You must discuss Augustine, Erasmus & Luther (roughly 500 words on each).
You must have a thesis (e.g. "Free will is incompatible with divine foreknowledge.").
You must have an argument for your thesis.
You must discuss at least one of the arguments presented in class (e.g. on a handout).
You must define all important philosophical terms.
You must discuss at least one important quotation from each philosopher.   Your grade will partly depend upon the quality and relevance of the quotations you choose.
This is a philosophy paper, so I'm looking for argument analysis.

Format:

Papers must be typed or printed from a computer using single-spacing.
Papers must use a 10 or 12 point font.
There must be one inch margins on top, bottom, left and right.
The pages must be numbered (I prefer numbers to be at the bottom and centered).
